Rose Community Foundation in Denver recently handed out 12 grants of $5,000 each to benefit Boomers.
As reported in denver.yourhub.com, the Boomer Innovation Grants program is part of the foundation's Boomers Leading Change initiative that aims to enhance Boomer life.
The selection committee awarded three grants in four categories:
· Boomer connecting points and networks offering information and resources
· Restructuring institutions and employment to attract boomers
· A health initiative
· Work force development for boomers seeking employment alternatives.
Some of the efforts being funded include an initiative to recruit nursing assistants, job training programs, a project for Vietnam-era veterans to help younger vets, and a mentoring program for Big Brothers Big Sisters.
