No Longer Just for Kids

Films like "Superbad" might make it seem like all of today's most popular and cutting edge comedy is only geared towards an audience that has no idea there ever was such a phenomenon as George Carlin and the seven words you can't say on television. However, many veteran comedic actors are teaming up with up-and-comers in venues that you wouldn't expect to maximize the laughs for all.

Such is the case with "It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia," an F/X offering that continually pushes the limits. (The third season premiere is titled "The Gang Finds a Dumpster Baby," and an infamous season one show was named "Charlie Wants an Abortion" - so, this is not the entertainment for the easily offended.)

In addition to starring previously-unknown actors, "It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia" also features Danny DeVito as Frank, father to the gang's degenerate twins. (DeVito called up and asked to be part of the show after seeing the first season.) Anne Archer also guest starred in season two as Frank's estranged wife and the twins' mother.

If you're interested to see how these two generations of comedic styling come together, be sure to check out the season premiere of "It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia" this Thursday, September 13 at 10 p.m./9 central on F/X.
