TV's Biggest Earners

Yeah, so Oprah is the richest person on TV again, as if anybody expected it to be someone else.

But when Forbes Magazine released its list of TV's top 20 earners and Jerry Seinfeld came in at number two, well, it had to sting Simon Cowell's bloated ego to learn he got beat out by an out-of-work comedian that hasn't seen primetime, or any other TV time, in almost a decade.

Seinfeld's eponymous NBC series ceased production in 1998, but still lives (and earns) in perpetuity, thanks to the wonderful world of syndication. Forbes says Seinfeld earned $60 million June '06-July '07. Cowell pulled a cool $45 million.

The list included other boomers such as David Letterman (fourth place, $40 million), Donald Trump (fifth place, $32 million) and Dr. Phil McGraw (seventh place, $30 million), as well as Jay Leno, Katie Couric and Diane Sawyer (who each pulled in $10 million-plus).

Oh, and Oprah earned another $260 million, but when you're a billionaire, what's another quarter billion?
