Journeyman: The Legend of Dylan McCleen

Journeyman: The Legend of Dylan McCleen
Dan, Katie and Zack are enjoying an afternoon at a farmer’s market. They run into Jack and his girlfriend there. When the rest wander off, Dan and Zack are left watching some street entertainers when Dan gets that telltale headache and heads into the past, leaving Zack alone on the street with strangers. Ok, don’t you think they’d be prepared for this?  I mean, the guy disappears at the drop of a hat.

Back in the past, Dan finds a guy hanging upside down with his parachute caught in a tree. He’s Dylan McCleen, a Vietnam war vet who parachuted from a plane in 1975 with a pile of money. He was going to use the money to bring a Cambodian family to the U.S.  Dan learns this by going back in time and getting info from his dad, a photojournalist at the time.  But it’s not too late. Now Dylan can bring that family to the U.S. -- thanks to Dan.

A scientist stops by to see Dan at the paper, and they talk time travel. Dan says he’s writing a book and wants to learn how to control the traveling – hypothetically speaking, of course. But the scientist is onto him. “Are people taking advantage of this…fictional character?” he asks. Not yet, says Dan.

By the end of the episode, Dan and Katie figure out that he can’t be alone with Zack – Duh! So they ALL get tickets to the 49ers game, which he’s been promising Zack.

And oh yeah, Zack sees Dan blip into the time-traveling light. “I think it’s cool,” he says. “Your magic.”

Just when I think this show is going nowhere, they pull a little magic out of a hat. Way to go, guys.
