Private Practice: In Which Addison Finds a Showerhead
Addison is having fantasy dreams about Pete. Apparently, she dreams about him all the time (like we didn’t see that coming). But she makes a big mistake in telling Naomi, who immediately tells Violet, who tells the rest of the staff. In the meantime, the girls talk about “scratching that itch,” but Addison says she doesn’t “do that.” Get a massaging shower-head! say the girls. Is this TMI? Because I think it might be.

We later learn that Pete has fantasy dreams about Addison, too. Big surprise. But they stop short of kissing. You know, sexual tension and all that.

Pete helps a famous runner with breathing problems. Her coach is Gordon Clapp, the guy from NYPD Blue. He played the coach on “The Game Plan,” too. Does he have a coach-only clause in his contracts?

When Pete brings the runner in for a treadmill stress test, she nearly passes out. Her condition is treatable, but she can’t run the upcoming Olympic qualifying race, says Pete. Of course, she ignores his advice and ends up collapsing at the race. Turns out her coach was drugging her. Nice.

Del, the midwife in training, is doing his first pap smear, but he’s a nervous wreck and drops the speculum. The next patient says he’s “too cute,” and the next says she won’t have “a child” poking around in “Lady Town.” But he reassures her that all will be well. And it is. We like Del.

Sam treats a woman who spooked an intruder and cut her head on a glass table. Of course, he doesn’t believe her, and neither do we. Violet talks to her and learns she was raped. Her husband overhears her talking and is outraged that he wasn’t there to protect her. The girl wants to try an experimental drug that will help her forget the attack. They talk through it and all turns out well. Like we knew it would.

Violet starts having coffee and lunch with her ex, who’s married to someone else now. Cooper is not happy, because HE wants to be with her. Of course, he won’t say that. Why don’t these people just say what they’re thinking?!

Sam and Naomi’s daughter, Maya, fakes the fact that she might have a sexually-transmitted disease. But really it’s her friend who does – and in fact, has an atopic pregnancy that nearly kills her. The whole incident causes a rift between Addison and Naomi, because Maya came to Addison for help.

Addison advises Naomi to talk with Maya about sex, “so she can stay a little girl a while longer.”
