Dirty Sexy Money: The Bridge

Dirty Sexy Money: The Bridge
Nick talks with Simon Elder (Blair Underwood) in the back of his car. Simon has to jet off to Haiti to give away free laptops to schools – “totally your thing,” he tells Nick, and offers his business card with phone number.

Karen and Freddy make wedding plans with the Rev. Brian, who then goes home to his family and “orphan” (a.k.a. love child) and reads Bible stories about lying and how it eats away at the heart. Later, the love child tells the Rev’s wife that his name is Brian…Brian, Jr., that is. He doesn’t want to end up in hell by lying to her.

“I want a divorce!” she tells Brian Sr., who talks to Nick about representing him. But Nick tells him to go back and beg for forgiveness. She still wants him out of the house – until she figures out what to do. The Brians bunk down at the Darling house. Hmmm…could the Rev. actually have a sweet side? He almost seems like he's bonding with the kid.

Jeremy fights with Juliet about inviting Natalie to their 25th birthday party, at which time they’ll inherit $25 million…each. Like these two really need a boatload of money to throw away. Anyway, they decide to each have their own party – she has a Victorian party at the house, and he rents out the Brooklyn Bridge. Does anyone else think this could go horribly wrong? It’s a bridge! With drunken idiots!

When Jeremy learns that Natalie isn’t really pregnant, he goes ballistic, strips all his clothes off, jumps on the bridge railing and belts out “All By Myself.” The cops show up, and Tripp is livid and wants to revoke the trust fund. “You know what, Dad?” yells Jeremy. “I just wanna get out from under you!”

They end up making nice with each other – mainly because Jeremy decides he needs to grow up and get a real job. “You’ve just made me truly proud,” says his dad.

Jeremy and Juliet make up, too. She says he’s pretty spectacular, and they hug and look into the sunrise together. Ok, I so cannot imagine doing this with my brothers. It’s just a little too close for comfort.

Nick and Simon Elder have dinner together. Simon reveals that his dad helped him out greatly when he came to the U.S. from Russia. And he was about to start working for Simon when he was killed.

The conversation is just the impetus Nick needs to get some traction on his own charitable project – remember, he has a safe full of the Darling’s cash to give to whomever he wants. First up: $200K for playground equipment for an inner city school.
