Put the tried-and-true bow away -- we have plenty of fun ways to wrap checks.

It’s the one gift that always fits and never gets returned. Wrap the perfect present in ways sure to surprise the graduate in your life.

It's the one gift that always fits and never gets returned. Wrap the perfect present in ways sure to surprise the graduate in your life.

1. Wrap the check inside a handbag or a coin purse for a female or on the interior of a gym bag or dock kit for a boy. The container will be appreciated just as much use as the funds it contains – well, almost as much.

2. Have something delivered to the new grad and make sure that the check is included with the card. You could send a bouquet, balloons or sweets. If you're looking for some level of embarrassment, the singing telegram is a classic choice.

3. Place the check inside of a piggy bank and wrap the bank. The piggy bank will be a nice piece of childhood nostalgia for the graduate. Plus, the bank will come in handy for the new dormitory or apartment denizen who needs to collect quarters for laundry day.

4. Find a sleek wine bag, place a bottle of sparkling cider (or champagne for the of age grad) inside and include the check in the bag as well. The sparkling cider will provide a fun way to toast graduation, and the check will be nicely concealed.

5. If the graduate is your child (and only if the graduate is your child), arrange a scavenger hunt with the check as the end prize. The clues can take your grad through spots that are significant to his or her growing up so that you can both take a trip down memory lane before it's time for him or her to begin "grown-up life."

6. Pull an Ed McMahon. Lay the print out of an extra large check on some foam and present the money to your graduate in true Publisher's Clearing House style. We guarantee the graduate won't forget that moment.

7. If you do want to stick with the conventional check presentation, make sure the card is a gift as well. Look for a card with a slot for a photo so that the graduate will have a ready-to-frame memento for that first apartment or dorm room.
