Gadgets for the Pet-Lover

Advances in technology aren't limited to products and improvements for the human race. Pampered pets have plenty to pant over.
1. Penthouse Dog Potty
For the pet owner who has grown tired of pesky everyday annoyances like climbing stairs, riding the elevator or even opening the back door, Cosmopolitan Canine has a solution. The Penthouse Dog Potty brings the outdoors in so that you no longer need to exert yourself just because your pet needs to potty. The grass-like turf in the Penthouse Dog Potty's elegant wood frame looks like the terrain your dog is trained to relieve itself on and features a drainage system so that odors and waste don't build up. Until you can train your pup to use a real toilet, the Penthouse Dog Potty will have to do.
2. QuickFinder
If you trim your pet's nails yourself, you risk cutting the nail too close causing your pet to bleed and be in pain. If you pay a professional to trim your pet's nails, you might end up paying more than a human manicure at a spa costs. Enter the QuickFinder. Offered by Petgadgets.com and recently featured in USA weekend magazine, the QuickFinder's sensor lets you know when you're about to "cut it too short" with your pet, so to speak.

Maybe you feel like your dog is missing out on the hustle and bustle of the outside world when it spends all day in the backyard. Or, maybe you think your pup would stop barking if only it could see what exactly was happening on the other side of the fence. Either way, pet peek provides your dog with a window on the world. The bubble window that seems oh-so-reminiscent of our notions of submarines and other underwater transport can be installed into any wooden fence so that Spot won't feel clueless about the neighborhood goings on ever again.
4. Float-a-Pet
Some dogs take to the water instantly. Others take a little more coaxing, and some animals won't even get near a faucet. If you spend a lot of the summer on or near the water, you might have worried about your pet's safety. Even excellent animal swimmers can get tired, and those who don't like to swim might be too scared to react if they accidentally fell in the lake or a pool. Rather than trying to rig a human life jacket for your pet, consider the inflatable pet collar. As a collar, the device keeps your pet's legs free to move through the water, but also insures that its head will never go under.
5. Neuticles
So, you want to fix your dog, but you don't want your dog to look "altered"? Think this prospect sounds like the impossible dream? Not so, according to Gregg A. Miller, inventor of neuticles, a prosthetic testicle implant for dogs of all shapes and sizes. With neuticles, your pet's lack of "manhood" can be your and his little secret.

No matter how much you love your bird, you probably don't love its poop. And, if you want your pet bird to have free reign like the other animal denizens of your household, you've really got to do something about that poop. Luckily, Lorraine and Mark Moore feel your pain. Lorraine is the mastermind behind the bird diaper, a clever little device whose name says it all. Lorraine also designed the bird diaper to be functional and fun – choose from an array of designs that include metallic styles and tie dyed designs.
7. Pet-it Flea Zapper with Ionizer
The problem with most flea treatments is that they tend to be expensive, messy or ineffective. (Plus, it's always a little unnerving to pour a toxic substance all over your furry friend.) However, the Pet-it Flea Zapper is easy to use and takes out pesky parasites in a snap. You simply run the Zapper through your pet's coat like you would with any grooming aid, brush or comb, and the gadget does the rest of the work in giving you a flea-free pet.
