A relaxing soak can be the perfect end to a day at the spa.

Think you don't have the time or the money to make your next spa visit your best ever? Consider a bonus treat from the "extras" menu for an inexpensive and quick treat that could put pampering over the edge.

Think you don't have the time or the money to make your next spa visit your best ever? Consider a bonus treat from the "extras" menu for an inexpensive and quick treat that could put pampering over the edge.

1. Soak
Saunas have been spa standards for years. Instead of steaming your way to peace of mind after your next treatment, consider a soothing soak instead. From the warm waters to the oils and rose petals, the bathing options at most spas will put your homemade bubble bath to shame. Twenty minutes in the tub will have a new meaning when you're done.

2. Ultrasound
While it might seem strange at first, no longer will you only find ultrasound machines at your ob/gyn's office – or in Tom Cruise's living room. Some aestheticians think that the same technology that allows an in-womb look at fetuses can also make certain spa treatments more effective. The sound waves produced by the ultrasound machine increase the speed at which your skin absorbs creams and nutrients. Adding an ultrasound treatment to a slimming body wrap or moisturizing body treatment can boost the visible effects of your next indulgence.

3. Eye Wrap
Few parts of the body show age as readily as the area around the eyes. The skin there is more sensitive and tends to sag or crack leading to the much dreaded crow's feet and under-eye bags. For a quick refresher without breaking the bank, grab a quick eye wrap the next time you're in the spa. The fifteen to twenty minute treatment moisturizes and firms, providing exactly what you need to diminish signs of age and brighten up your peepers.

You'll love the feel of your skin after a paraffin treatment.

4. Paraffin
If you've never experienced the joys of paraffin during a manicure or pedicure, be sure to treat yourself to this moisturizing treatment – regardless of whether you have your digits polished and buffed at the time or not. Paraffin is wax blend that covers your skin and becomes a glove-like cocoon on the area to which it is applied. (The wax's ability to trap heat is what makes it such a good moisturizer.) Your skin will be so soft afterwards, it'll be hard not to turn into a paraffin addict.

5. Scalp Massage
Many high end salons have incorporated scalp massages into their regular pre-wash routine. After all, who doesn't enjoy a quick head rub to unwind before their regular trim and great blow out? Fortunately, most spas also offer the opportunity to add a scalp massage to any of your other services like facials or even as an extra dose of attention after a deep tissue or Swedish body massage. The aromatherapy oils, such as mint or rosemary, used for this surprisingly relaxing treat make this fifteen minute option a must-have on your next visit.

6. Deep Heat
Despite all the developments and new offerings in spas, sometimes there's nothing better than concentrated heat to soothe aching muscles and make you feel as good as those days when there's nothing you want more than to curl up underneath an old blanket with a good book or a favorite movie. Whether you're looking to treat a particularly troublesome muscle or pain or you just want a few extra minutes of comfort and relaxation, a deep heat add-on might be just the ticket for a little extra luxury in life.

7. Dry Brush
As a quick and inexpensive way to deal with trouble spots on the body, a dry brush add-on can whisk away dead, rough skin from areas like elbows and bottoms of the feet. If you don't see the use of a full body scrub, the dry brush targeted approach to exfoliation might be just what you need for those hard-to-reach and hard-to-soften problem areas.
