Top 7 Twists on Relaxation

1. Beauty Bar
California, Texas, Nevada, New York
This concept started with a salvaged, mid-'60s, California salon interior, complete with vintage hair dryers, swinging lamps and lots and lots of pink. That theme now carries through to several locations, and martinis have been added to the mix. If you go during happy hour, a martini-and-manicure combo is $10.
2. Yoga Works
Santa Monica, California
You may be mingling with celebs at the Santa Monica location of Yoga Works (and even some well-known yoga instructors like Sarah Ivanhoe). But if you attend the occasional "Yoga to Lift Your Spirits" workshops on Friday nights, it's more than the yoga poses that will guide you to inner peace: Enjoy post-class treats like wine and organic chocolates.
3. Dashing Diva
New York, California, North Carolina
This very pink, very girlie spot for manicures, pedicures and massage often hosts parties for groups, but the fun atmosphere and express counter in front draw in many people by themselves as well. At the New York location, the divas host "Girls Night Out" every Thursday and Friday when the cosmos flow freely.
4. Bloom Yoga Studio
Chicago, Illinois
If you feel like you want to be out on the town when Friday night rolls around, but you're tired of the usual spots, try some midnight yoga action. At 10:30 p.m. on the first Friday of each month, this Chicago studio hosts a 90-minute class with live music and by candlelight. Your reward for such a healthy night out? Free wine and dessert.

Los Angeles, California
On select Fridays, this spa transforms itself into a stylish social space. Guests spend the evening milling around a lounge, treating themselves to the complimentary beverages and hors d'oeuvres and socializing with others who are there for their own mini-treatments, such as manicures and foot massages. For this event, the clothes stay on and the doors stay open.
6. Beyond Wrapture
British Columbia, Canada
If you'd like to reap the health benefits of wine without ingesting any, go for some vinotherapy. Beyond Wrapture offers a massage with grape seed oil and your choice of red or white wine. We're not sure what wine blended into the lotion will do for you, but the grape seed oil is thought to have anti-aging effects. Like the concept? See our story on vinotherapy, including at-home versions.
7. Millcroft Centre for Well-Being
Ontario, Canada
Sure, everyone talks about the health benefits of wine, but it's all about the beer here. The malt and barley scrub and soak treatment includes a scrub to exfoliate skin and improve circulation. Then you'll soak for 20 minutes in a traditional Japanese Ofuro tub. Right by your side? A cold glass of Hockley Gold Premium Draft, which is a brew made locally.
