Top 7 Ways to Wrap a Check

It’s the one gift that always fits and never gets returned. Wrap the perfect present in ways sure to surprise the special recipient.

1. Creative Containers Wrap the check inside a handbag or a coin purse for a female or on the interior of a gym bag or dock kit for a male. The container will be appreciated just as much use as the funds it contains – well, almost as much.

2. Special Delivery Have something delivered and make sure that the check is included with the card. You could send a bouquet, balloons or sweets. If you’re looking for some level of embarrassment, the singing telegram is a classic choice.

3. Bank on It Place the check inside of a piggy bank and wrap the bank. The piggy bank will be a fun piece to keep around, and what's better than a savings bank with the starter funds included?

4. Bottled Beauty Find a sleek wine bag, place a bottle of champagne inside (or sparkling cider for the non-drinker) and include the check in the bag as well. The champagne makes for a great way to toast a birthday, anniversary or other special occasion, and the check will be nicely concealed.

5. Clever Clues For some fun, arrange a scavenger hunt with the check as the end prize. The clues can take the recipient through spots that are significant to you and him or her so that you can both take a trip down memory lane as part of the gift as well.

6. Powerful Presentation Pull an Ed McMahon. Lay the print out of an extra large check on some foam and present the money in true Publisher’s Clearing House style. It's sure to be an unforgettable moment.

7. Pretty as a Picture If you do want to stick with more conventional check presentation, make sure the card is a gift as well. Look for a card with a slot for a photo so that the recipient will have a ready-to-frame memento in addition to some spending cash.
